Peition for City Cat Terminal submitted

Ferry_stop Greens’ candidate for Hamilton, Tristan Peach, has submitted a petition to Council with 110 signatures for a long overdue City Cat terminal to be built at the Teneriffe Ferry stop. Council must commence design and construction of a City Cat Terminal at the Teneriffe Ferry stop immediately, rather than waiting years for a stop to be built at the Newstead River Park.

Stop the Destruction of Kalinga Park

Kalingatrees01Tristan Peach, Greens candidate for Hamilton, is the only candidate supporting the preservation of  beautiful gums trees and hoop pines at the eastern end of Kalinga Park, Clayfield. The trees give delight to many residents, yet Labor and Liberal will allow them to be bulldozed to build the Airport Link car tunnel. Mr Peach is promoting a public transport solution which will allow the trees to be preserved while also addressing transport problems.

Labor and Liberal fail on City Cat access

Ferry_stop Labor and Liberal have both refused to install a City Cat terminal at the Teneriffe Ferry stop, meaning the Greens are the party to vote for if you want the City Cat to stop there. The upgrade of the Teneriffe Ferry stop to a City Cat terminal has been planned since 1997 but Council has failed to act, with its priorities being on expensive and ineffective road projects.

Petition for a City Cat Stop at Teneriffe

Catferry Greens candidate for the Hamilton Ward Tristan Peach has started a petition for the City Cat to stop at Teneriffe. People who want to catch the City Cat from Teneriffe currently have to catch a cross-river ferry to Bulimba to access the Cat. Click below to read the petition.

Public transport activist to run for Hamilton

Tristan_pic_web_portrait_2 Brisbane activist Tristan Peach has announced that he will be running as the Greens' Candidate for the Hamilton Ward in the upcoming Brisbane City Council elections and has ambitions to be Council's Transport Chairperson.

Mr Peach’s main priority as a Councillor would be listening to and implementing the ideas of people in the Hamilton Ward and encouraging more people to become actively involved in local decision-making. He will demonstrate his commitment to citizen participation during the election campaign by discussing local and city-wide issues with as many people as possible.
