24 February 2008 Greens install example light rail stop at "Trammies Corner" Paddington
The Greens are the only party with a credible transport plan to reduce congestion, slash greenhouse gas emissions and improve access in West Brisbane.
While Liberal and Labor plan to pump more traffic into the west from Hale Street Bridge, the Greens' transport plan will reduce traffic and improve neighbourhood amenity.
The centre piece of their plan for the west is the "Western Line" a light rail service running high frequency services from Roma Street to Kenmore. This would connect with a cross-city light rail line from Indooroopilly to Dutton Park, via the University of Queensland.

Stuart Skabo has announced that he will once again run for the ward of Toowong in this year's Brisbane City Council elections after receiving 20% of the primary vote in the 2004 election.
"I
look forward to helping create a clean and prosperous future for
Australia's greatest city, Brisbane," said Mr Skabo.
"This time we look forward to not only improving on our already substantial support but also to winning the ward for the Greens and the people of Toowong."
"While our state and national
governments fight about how little they can get away with doing to
ensure our future, I can see that there is a great opportunity for
local government to step in and take action. Climate change, the
economy and resource security are all global issues, but global
issues with largely local solutions."
