Rob Scott for Parkinson

Rob has lived in Brisbane for twenty five years and has called Pallara home for seven of those years. Previously a tradesman, Rob’s growing interest in the environment and community issues led him to study Environmental Management and consequently to the position of Project Officer with Oxley Creek Catchment Association.

Since moving to Pallara Rob has been a very active in the community

  • Co-founder of the Pallara Parkland Bushcare Group

  • Initiated
the Friends of the Anabranch community group

  • Co
editor of the Pallara Willawong News community newsletter

  • Assists
in coordinating the Clean up Australia Day activity each year

  • Initiated
and coordinated local Federal Envirofund projects

Rob’s commitment to catchment management and urban planning issues, especially in the ward of Parkinson and the Oxley Creek catchment has resulted in him participating on the Lord Mayor’s ‘Oxley Creek Taskforce’ and the Lower Oxley Creek and Paradise Wetland Community Planning Team.

He
has experienced first hand the impact on local communities and the
natural environment that comes from providing extra housing and
infrastructure for an ever increasing population.

Rob and the Greens will fight for better public and private transport options, protection of our green space and natural bushland areas and genuine community consultation regarding the future of the new ward of Parkinson.

5 Reasons to vote for the Greens in Parkinson

(Algester, Calamvale, Forest Lake, Heathwood, Larapinta, Parkinson, Pallara and Willawong)

Rob believes, local residents decide what is best for Parkinson not developers.

  1. To reduce bus waiting times and congestion on local roads. Rob will work for better public and private transport options for Parkinson residents.

  1. Rob will protect, rehabilitate and maintain our local parks, bushland and the lakes and waterways which enhance our lives and are critical to our native wildlife.

  1. To ensure local residents decide what is best for Parkinson, Rob will demand genuine community consultation and input into council decision making processes.

  1. Rob’s vision for Parkinson provides housing, parks, walkways, bike paths, wildlife areas, community and sporting facilities to improve our quality of life.

  1. Rob DOES NOT SUPPORT the Liberal and Labor parties plan for an extra 29,000 people in the Oxley Wedge and an extra 20,000 cars on our local roads.
