As a resident of the Brighton-Sandgate-Deagon area for over 40 years I have a gained a great understanding of what the Deagon ward needs.
I am committed to working closely with the residents as their voice and I ask you for your vote in the forthcoming Council elections on 15 March.
My professional background is in software engineering and mathematics and I currently work for a small software development company. I know only too well the difficulties and rewards small business owners face.
The main issues of concern to me are:
* future transport needs, with emphasis on the needs of the elderly
* improved bikeways and public transport
* community supported and sustainable local business development
* protecting our remaining bushland areas from unsustainable growth.
I am a member of the Australian Conservation Foundation and Bush Heritage Australia and have worked as a volunteer in various local habitat groups. I am well aware of a broad range of issues that affect both small business while keeping a balanced view on the needs of the environment.
I feel that my background will equip me to best represent you - the people of Deagon - in a competent and professional manner with a common sense approach to environment and the needs of small business.
