Greens Accept Debate Offer, but where is Campbell Newman?

Ms Jo Bragg, Greens Lord Mayoral  Candidate for Brisbane advised Mr Greg Rowell's team today that yes she'll definitely be there on Friday to debate with Greg Rowell. The Labor party informed Ms Bragg that Mayor Campbell Newman is refusing to participate in this traditional BCC Mayoral Debate despite two letters and several phone messages from the  Labor Party.

Ms Jo Bragg said today,

"Both the Labor and Liberal Parties are running big media campaigns using donations from property developers and refusing to disclose  to voters in advance of the election where the money comes from. "

"It's more important than ever that voters have a chance to question the major Mayoral Candidates in person, unplugged from all that expensive media hype," she continued.

Ms Bragg said, "I say to Mr Greg Rowell, good on you for doing the right thing and organising the debate. I say to Mayor Campbell Newman, there is no excuse for ducking your responsibilities to fair and democratic debate. "

Ms Bragg added, "I'll definitely be at the debate with Greg Rowell on Friday 12 noon at Morningside RSL."
