Greens warn Labor on web site

Greens Lord Mayoral candidate Jo Bragg today warned the ALP against crossing the line on their comments with their new web site NewmanFacts.com.

Ms Bragg said Labor had a long history of producing so-called "shit sheets" of unfair, inaccurate and often baseless information about their political opponents - both in official and unofficial publications.

The internet has made this sort of unfair political comment so much easier," Ms Bragg said.

One such web site is greens-liberal-deal.com.au set up by the Victorian ALP state secretary to criticise The Greens in Victoria.  This site runs scurrilous posts suggesting that the Greens and the Liberals have done underhand deals on policy and preferences.

"I call on the ALP to include only fair comment on their web site and to allow readers to blog comments in response to posts, Ms Bragg said.
